We here at Ergo Depot have been eagerly anticipating this chair's launch for some time. The HAG design team has been working for nearly seven years on its new Futu  chair. Futu's clean and smooth design conceals HAG's new intelligent integrated seat mechanism known as inBalance®. This new technology allows the user a simple means for making subtle adjustments to the chair without knobs or levers. As a result, the HAG Futu offers unparalleled comfort in a beautifully elegant and slender profile.
The chair's name, Futu, is short for "future". The Futu is produced using a minimum of energy and raw materials. Each component has been engineered to optimize use of the material. In fact, only seven different materials are used to manufacture the chair. HAG has strived to make Futu the most environmentally friendly chair on the market. Some of the environmental attributes of the chair include:
- 97% recyclable
 - More than 50% of the raw materials used have previously been recycled
- There is no foam in the backrest
- No chrome, non-recyclable composites or glue are used in the production process
- Designed for extremely easy disassembly into clean, recyclable materials
- GREENGUARD Certified
- Environmental Product Declaration in accordance with EN-ISO-14025
As to the Futu's upholstery, the chair is outfitted in HAG's new "FutuKnit" fabric. FutuKnit was specially designed for the HAG Futu and is precisely shaped and fitted for the backrest and seat. The 3D knitted fabric self-adjusts to the individual curvature of the user's body. This provides a significantly higher level of seating comfort with a soft upholstery, no foam and no seams. FutuKnit is available in eight different colors.
