Like all of the chairs in Varier's Balans family, the Wing Balans opens the angle between the thighs and torso. The active sitting promoted by this posture allows deep breathing and increased energy - leading to improved concentration and higher productivity.
Instead of the static, upright position of traditional chairs, the Wing Balans allows the spine to find its natural curve. The body is encouraged to shift postures throughout the day, relieving pressure on the vertebrae and keeping energy levels high.
An adjustable lift and knee pad makes the Wing Balans an ideal option for a variety of work heights and users. The only chair with casters in the Varier Active collection, the Wing makes small work of moving around an office or migrating between work stations.
The Varier Wing Balans is the perfect instrument for the ever-changing demands of today's work places and lifestyles. Work becomes a breeze as the upright, "alert" posture promotes concentration and activity.
The benefits are not just for adults, as the posture, breathing, and energy enhancements of active sitting have been directly correlated with improved homework performance in adolescents.
Humans were created to move, not to sit still.
"I believe that the spine is happiest when it can adopt the natural curvature that it has when we stand upright"
No scientific evidence supports the notion that the "correct" sitting posture is upright, at a right angle. In fact, studies are now revealing that the body operates best when its form is allowed to remain open and fluid.
The Varier Wing Balans helps to achieve just that. Forward-sloped seats on a castered base support the body in a seated, kneeling position. This allows the angle between the thighs and torso to increase, allowing the body to naturally adopt the same spine curvature as when standing, relieving pressure from the vertebrae and letting you breathe more deeply and freely.
The Wing Balans promotes constant natural movement, keeping the back and abdominal muscles active at all times. While sitting, the user is actually strengthening the core muscles of the abdomen and back while preventing tension in the neck and shoulders.
This "active sitting" improves circulation and oxygen levels, boosting energy, concentration, and overall well-being.
